Waiting for this day for about a year!

I am so excited that in a few hours I will be able to go and pick up Adam and Kelly from the airport (that is--if I don't get lost because I have never actually driven there!) I am thrilled that they were able to take off work to come here and hang out with us for a week. We are going to have various visits w/ the old journey group which I am really looking forward too, also because we hardly ever see those people anymore :( So it should be a wonderful time of fellowship and fun!
Anyhow, I have to clean, and get the kids ready before we leave here at like 11am, so I should go...
Adalai is getting a little better... so that is wonderful! I am so thankful for God's blessings that I have receieved lately, what a wonderful God we serve..

3 days left!

We went to the doc yesterday with both kids and I mentioned in my last post. Wyatt checked out fine, but Adalai has an ear infection. Poor girl! She is on amoxicillan, and is also kind of sick (the nurse explained that she probably isn't suffering and allergy from the meds, but may have a bug also), she spit up a few times and has tummy aches ;( Anyhow, she is getting really big! She is skinny for her age only in the 25th percentile, but weighs 19 lbs 8 oz... And she is super tall! She is in the 95th percentile for her height 30 1/4 inches, and has a big noggin (46 1/2 cm-75th percentile). She is doing well otherwise. We may switch to soy milk. The doctor said that nutritionally, that is it good for both of them and may be a little easier for them both to digest, so we have been doing that for awhile. Cool thing about the Silk milk, is that Wyatt thinks it is chocolate milk ,and I don't even need to add chocolate to it, since it is so sweet. (but actually has less sugar than milk!) So for that factor itself, it is good. They are both going to be back on track soon hopefully! Ben and I also took a sick day yesterday. Neither one of us woke up feeling very well, and with the doc appt and Adi sick, Ben decided to stay home with us. I was so greatful! So we relaxed at home and I got a nap in last night and today which really helped, and then tonight we get to go to Grams, which we always look forward to! In 3 days Adam and Kelly come. I am so so so excited I can hardly stand it, so we are keeping busy until then. I am going to see Little Gram tomorrow morning (of course if everyone is feeling well) and then on Friday we are going to watch Sophie and play here, and then go shopping for groceries in the evening so we are all ready for when they arrive on Saturday. Their flight comes in at 12:30pm on Saturday! We are going to have pizza for supper w/ our friends Andy and Jess, and kind of hang out together. Then I am thinking if everyone is up for it, I am going to suggest the Betty Brinn museum on Sunday... And then I am not sure what is up for the next week, but we are probably going to do some of the stuff that we used to always do together... go to the Elegant Farmer, shop at Super Walmart, and probably fire up the grill, even if it is snowing outside! ;)
We also have lots of cleaning up to do before they come, so I am focusing on that tomorrow... but for today? Rest until after nap, load the kids into the Jeep and then rest more at Grams and let them play...

Easter

Easter was wonderful. I am so happy to have been able to participate in the holiday for what it is... not just because it was a holiday that I got to celebrate. Because of being a part of the MDP, I have been focusing a lot more on Bible reading, and to actually read the gospel of John and learn about the resurrection. Anyhow, the family time was wonderful too, and the eatin was good ;)
Aww I wanted to post photos, but blogger doesn't like me this evening. Oh well we had a good time. This week is going to be really busy. Tomorrow we have a doc appt for both kiddos, to check on Wy's belly and A's 12 mo appt. And then this weekend Adam and Kelly come to visit! I am so excited, I can hardly wait!
The ped's nurse called today and said that W tested negative for Celiac disease and for milk/egg allergy! WHOOOOHOOOOOOO

Good Friday

I want to spend my time today to think about the fact that it is Good Friday. We had such a moving service last year w/ the journey for Good Friday. We had a stations of the cross set up. Our best friend Adam drew very amazing pictures of the stations of the cross and we took time of prayer at each station...

My poor Wyatt hasn't been feeling well for quite awhile now... And we had seen another pediatrician who kind of thought it was a lactose intolerance... blah blah... Anyhow, we got in (luckily) to our pediatrician who was booked, and explained the situation. We (Big Grams and I) explained that he has been listless lately, not sleeping well, drinking fine, but eating basically nothing, lethargic, tired, and then has spurts of activeness, followed by spurts of cuddliness (did I mention that he never cuddles w/ me?). Anyhow, there was probably plenty of other things that we told her about Wyatt... we also told her of the things that kind of run in our family, Celiac disease (Em), Lactose Intolerance (Grams), and acid reflux (Kir). I explained also that for the last three days he has had diarreah... Anyhow she mentioned a couple possibilities, and suggested a x-ray of his abdomen, and also a blood panel to test for Celiac disease (if blood shows signs of it, then we would have to have an endoscopy where they would take a biopsy), and also for milk/egg allergy. Wooohooo praise God! I am so thankful that Dr. Swanson actually helped out! (I don't have good luck with doctors, although she has been good all along, just always busy busy!) So we took him down and he laid still for the x-ray. The Radiologist took me to see his x-ray and I could see myself, w/ no special training, that the poor boy is stopped up! Anyhow, then came the blood work. Handled it like a man, I must say... he did well, cried, but didn't squirm.. So they called later to tell me that the doc ordered for us to buy miralax (laxative) and mix it in his drink. They also called later to say that his hemoglobin/WBC count, and mono test were all fine (Praise God again!), so I went to Walgreens and mixed up his kiddie coctail. We went out w/ little Gram for awhile, and then came home and relaxed and watched a show that he likes, anyhow, I got up to take out the DVD and send him off to bed, and... ugh he threw up three times. I got him in the tub, and then spent the rest of the evening cleaning up our couch, floor, and foot rest... poor boy~! Anyhow, today I called to see what the doc wants to do, if I should just keep up w/ the medicine (I sure hope not!), or if I should give him something else...

Today we have Sophie, and then my two nieces, and youngest nephew... So, thankful he is perky and fine this morning otherwise I was going to cancel w/ all the other kiddos... I think he will have a better day today, he actually ate breakfast! wooohooooo! (Seriously this is a big step up... he never eats breakfast!) So, please keep little Wyatt in prayer, we see our pediatrician for the test results, and also Adalai's 12 month check up on Tuesday of next week.

Other then that, nothing much else is going on. I have been just trying to help w/ Wyatt any way I can! I am happy that it is the weekend, and that we are going to be able to take it easy. We are supposed to go to the Elegant farmer w/ my mom, and out w/ my sister in law tomorrow, but I am not sure what is happening until the little guy feels a bit better. And then of course Sunday is Easter!

Happy Birthday Adalai!

happy birthday my dear girl! You were born at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital at 6:19pm, and weighed in at a mere 5lbs 1oz. Tiny little girl, so beautiful. Your big brother, Aunt Kira, and Mommy (with you in tow) were at Walmart, shopping for a camera (never new at that point that we would need it for a special occasion that day!) when I had a feeling it was time... Auntie Kira took you and I ;) right to the doctors office, who then assured me that we were ready to have a cesarian... We were instructed not to stop for a thing, and head right to the hospital. I think Auntie Kir was a little more freaked out then she led on, but nevertheless we made it there ;). I called your Grammy at work (see Grammy works at our family dentist office, and see Daddy had a routine cleaning that day...) and she and Daddy rushed to the hospital. The nice nurse came in and started prepping me for surgery, and I was scared. Daddy wasn't there yet, and they didn't want anyone in there while they gave me the epidural. Also I had to assign auntie Kir to help with your big brother! So I tried to remember numbers to call people, had I been smart and brought the cellphone.... anyhow... A little while later, Daddy came and Mommy felt relieved right when I saw him... They took me into surgery and I was scared. Daddy prayed over me, and sang to keep me calm, he is an amazing man. I felt nausea through the whole thing but was so excited to meet you! A little while later, the doctor told me that you were ready to be born, and then I heard your first cry. It was so precious. The nurse brought you over to us, and what we saw I still don't believe to this day. A perfectly precious little face, it almost didn't seem real to me. They took you away to check your weight and do some normal pokin around at ya, and I went into recovery. I started to feel my legs again which was really wierd, and then before I knew it, you were with me! They had me lay you right on my skin for comfort, and then they wheeled us back to our room, where our family was waiting, Adam and Kelly were there waiting to see you, and our other family members and some friends... I was so worried we would get thrown out of the hospital with how many people came to see you! Your brother looked you over, and gave his nod of approval... You snuggled me, and later we found out that your blood sugar was low, so they ended up giving you an I.V. but after about 4 days in the hospital, you were ready to come home! We had such a nice week with Daddy home, getting to now our new little girl. You make us so proud, honey. You grew a liking to your pacifier, so now here I am on your first birthday wondering how I am going to get those away from you. We were able to have a great nursing relationship for the first 8 months of life, and you adjusted well to formula and then whole milk very well. We were able to visit our friends in London when you were four months. You got to ride the tube, and the double decker bus, decided to poop all over me at the British museum, and got snuggled on by Matt and Kate over Mommy's 25th birthday. What a special bonding time we had there! Grammy was there too, we had a 16 day trip, and we called you our Picadilly Princess because we had to pass a place called Picadilly Circus on the tube. We met so many people there in London that just snuggled you, and it was funny to hear some people tell me that they thought I was courageous to bring a 4 month old overseas, but you were seriously a piece of cake! A total blessing. Now that you are getting a bit older, we see your total attitude shining through. I have heard some of our family members say that you are just like your Auntie Kira. That is a good thing because I couldn't ask for a better friend. You are so silly and so sweet. I am so thankful to have you as our favorite daughter and Wyatt as our favorite son. I am so happy to be able to celebrate your first birthday with you. Thank you for the privelege of being your Mom.

Lactose Intolerant???? Thanks, Grandma! ;)

We were out with my Little Grandma yesterday shopping for decorations at the dollar store, when Wyatt says "Mommy my bum hurts" (yes we call it bum instead of "butt", "tushy" or whatever else people call the bum), and then he screamed and screamed (I am happy to say that this is actually the first time that one of my children have actually drawn that type of attention to us) oh my gosh he was in awful pain, scrunching his legs up to his belly. I couldn't even hold him normal because he was like clenching his legs together... so, we hurried little Grandma along, and left the store and raced home... Made an appt w/ Ben's old pediatrician who is super nice... and with an evaluation, and questions about family history, pointed to it being either Celia disease (which my sis-in-law has), or lactose intolerance (which Big Grams has/and Kir-well kind of). So, we were advised to try and use lactose free milk. Makes sence since he had trouble digesting breast milk, and drank only soy formula during infancy... hello, momma, I should have noticed! Anyhow, he is really liking the Soy milk... praise God, since the woman who checked us out at the Pig said, as she scans the bottle of Organic Soy Milk, "This stuff sucks!" ;0) Oh my gosh. Anyhow, he is drinking it fine, no complaints (because I did try it and it sure does suck!) so hopefully this is the end of the actually ongoing "Mom my bum hurts" (It was uncommon for the occurance yesterday that happened, he usually says "my bum hurts" and that is it--yesterday he freaked!)... So, we'll see if that solves the little belly achin problem~
So far no Bum complaints today!

Yay for warmer weather!

I haven't had much time to blog about lately, and not much to actually blog about. This week so far we have stayed in pretty much. We are getting ready for the birthday's this weekend. Adalai turns one on Friday, and Ben turns 26 on Sunday. I am having cake here for people to stop by on Saturday, so I am going to spend time cleaning and whatnot for our family to come and visit. I am thankful that it is getting warmer out, Ben keeps reminding me "March is In like a lion and out like a lamb"... I hope so, although it does seem like it is going that way! I have been making a good effort to make sure I take quiet time each morning to read my Bible and pray, and it has considerably been helping me in every way, so if I could encourage something to people today, it would be to do just that. I bought a cute new Bible last weekend.. Anyhow, I have been loving the mornings spent getting to know the Bible more and spending time praying over things that need prayer, and for friends I haven't seen much of!
