Outside

I am so happy that the weather is getting nicer. I am sure I have written this before, but I am seriously so excited. It has been wonderful because Wyatt's little buddies from next door come, and I am the mom who gets to sit outside with them. There are usually about 5 including mine that hang out in our yard. It is kind of a blessing to be the one who gets to referee, but I really enjoy to sit in the grass with a book. It is wonderful! We are so busy lately, that it is my time of peace. It has been a very long time since I have felt actual peace at being at home. I used to be so anxious to hang out around the apartment, which is another reason it is a blessing that my kids are the youngest, because I actually HAVE to stay outside while they play, which doesn't give me the option to be in the apartment fussing over what needs to be cleaned/organized/whatever...
I finished the book of Joshua this evening, which makes book number 13 in my quest to read through the whole Bible. I have switched back to reading the NIV translation. My poor Bible is all duct taped, and written in, it is a total mess, but oh well, I love the worn in look!
I am off now to journal, relax, and watch a movie!

5 Year Anniversary

Saturday was our 5 year wedding anniversary... I was so blessed to spend the whole day with my husband and children (we actually don't spend a lot of time as a whole family sometimes) and we hung out together for the morning, since everyone is still sick! And then went out shopping, we decided to try and buy the kids a toy train set (which turned out to be a better deal online, but need to wait for it to ship now!) when we got home from shopping, we put the kiddos into the stroller, and took a walk to one of our favorite restaurants Senor Tomas... Mmmmm it was so good! We got to sit on their patio, which was really nice with the kids, and then went home and spent the rest of the day playing outside and watching movies together! It was absolutely lovely! I am so thankful to have off today with Ben. We are going to spend most of the day with family... we are heading to my Mom's and then spending the evening with my M-I-L. We plan to watch a movie with Sherry and Neal. Last night I was so excited to spend some time with my sister in law and Kira... I made Summer Turkey Chili, and we got to eat together. It stormed last night, but looks like the weather could be turning nice today (not sure, haven't checked the forecast yet). Anyhow, it looks like we have a busy busy summer coming up, which is always good for me, as long as it isn't too busy. I have been able to really appreciate the time that we have been able to spend hanging out around the house and stuff lately. In the afternoons, it has been such a blessing to spend mainly the whole evening outside in the yard with the neighbor kids. We take books outside and they take turns reading to our kids, and they ride bikes and slide on the slide. It is wonderful! I try to get some chores done while they are playing too, but I have to keep a close eye on them, so... Anyhow, hopefully the kids coughs go away soon, they seem to be getting worse only at night or when they go down for nap time and stuff... Ben is still feeling kind of crummy too, and I can't believe that I have gotten away with just having a bit of a stuffy nose! Woah!
I have now finished Deuteronomy, which is really exciting... and I am now onto Joshua, which is just the continuation of the Moses story. I am happy to be getting as far as I have in my Bible reading, just worried that I am not taking as much away from it as I should. I can start a more in-depth study of it, once I take the Bible Assessment tool through our MDP program... Well that's all for now~!
Happy Memorial Day!

Coke or Water?

I think I have posted this before, but thought I would post it again....

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
That it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down
midnight hunger pangs
For almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
Water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
For up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
Memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
The computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
Colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
Cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
Bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
You should drink every day?

COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
Two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
The highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
And it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
Toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour,
Then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
Stains from vitreous China.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
Away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
To the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
The baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
With the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8... To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
Into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
Through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
Grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
Windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
Acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
Contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
Commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
Cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
Engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

Or Coke?

Stuff....

I am excited because Ben has off this evening, and he gets to join in the fun of shopping with our kiddos! Nah it isn't as bad as some people have it though, they typically are pretty patient while shopping ;)
I am excited that it is the weekend again... the week seemed to go pretty quickly! I am really looking forward to next weekend because it is our 5 year wedding anniversary and Ben is taking me overnight somewhere, and we are going to go out to breakfast! (that is one of my favorite things to do! yummmy)... Anyhow, not much new here, got to go out to dinner with friend last night which was really nice!
Also, we were told to clean up in the hallway of the apartments, so I was forced to take our stash of aluminum cans in to the recycling center, and was totally blessed by it! I got $16 for not that many cans! One good reason to drink Coke!

Dave

We got a call last night from our friend Dave's girlfriend, giving us the report on his 12 hour operation that started yesterday morning. He had a tumor removed from the inside of his ear, that actually went onto his facial nerves. Danielle said that he is expected to appear as if he has had a stroke for about a year. He was doing Ok last night. Today they have had trouble maintaining his blood pressure. He is in the ICU at WMH right now. I pray that he comes to know the Lord through this situation. I pray for his healing. I pray for the families healing because of this situation also.

Mothers Day!

Well it was a wonderful Mother's Day. I was totally blessed by my husband and children. On Saturday, I was invited to my sister's new place and we ate yummy Chinese food, and started to watch a movie, when my husband called and said that he needed me to come out to the mall and unlock the Jeep. He had accidentally locked the door with the Jeep running... Oops! So, I got there and then was able to come home with my family, they were at the mall buying a mothers day gift! The kids and Ben got me a leather travelers journal, it is so pretty! On Sunday morning I got to be the one to stay in bed while Ben got up with the kids, and he made me pancakes in bed! What more could a girl ask for? Yummmy! So we had to split up after church, I took the kids, and he went to his mom's while I went to mine. We were really blessed to be able to go fishing together twice this weekend! Anyhow, we joined Blockbuster online, and that has been really nice. We watched part of the movie RV... not so great. I also, did end up getting PS I love you ( I know Kel, you told me not to, but I thought I would check it out) and haven't finished that yet, and we also got The Interpreter...
So I am really liking that we joined that.
We had a nice weekend, and as usual a busy week ahead. Playdate at Kir's tomorrow, Wednesday is Grams house and so on....
Have a good week!

Proud Momma

It scares me how quickly my little boy is growing. He saw two boys from our apartment complex playing with their Nerf guns. He asked me right away, "Mommy can Wy have a gun?" (Have I ever mentioned that this boy has talked in third person for like months now? My answer was of course, "You have to ask your daddy"... I have had issues with the thought of Wyatt having a toy gun. I am crazy about stuff like that, because it just worries me! Anyhow, Ben said yes, so on Tuesday we went and bought him a Nerf gun at Target. He was so Stoked! We brought it home, and found that he can't pull the lever back to be able to actually shoot the suction cuppy thingys out... My husband has had a great time tormenting me with it though! ;) It is kind of a fun toy, but anyhow, after we got home from buying the gun, the little boy that lives next door to us was outside, and Wyatt was so excited to show him the Nerf gun, and it made him proud to be able to play with him (even though every time he wants to shoot it, he has to say "Mommy fix it!" and I have to pull it for him!) So anyhow, today the boy (10 yrs old) and girl (5 years old) that live next door came a knockin' and wanted him to play. I am so proud of him! He got tired of playing outside with them so asked if he could play at their house. I know their Mom pretty well (she also has a 6 month old, so we definitely make that connection) so I went with all the kids to their apartment to ask if they could play! It is so sweet to sit here and know that my kiddo is playing with his friends. He is right next door, and I am only allowing 15 minutes... (anal right? ;)) but nevertheless, I am proud of him for playing and keeping up with the big kids.
Nothing much else in other news. Kira moves today which is really exciting. She is soooo excited, so in a little while the kids and I are going over to see her new place. Nice thing too is that when the construction is done in Oconomowoc, it will only take me like 15 minutes tops to get to her apartment! I also found out today that Ben is going to be taking me out of town on our anniversary (it will be our 5 year on the 24th!). Not too sure on all the details yet, but what I do know sounds wonderful! I can't wait to get away and get some much needed R&R! Looks like I get a Harley ride during the vacation too! ;) My wonderful F-I-L is going to take our kids!
I also joined Blockbusters online deal today... I was going to try and convince my husband to let us have cable back, but my best friend talked me out of that whole deal. My sister has been on the Blockbuster thingy for quite awhile, and really really likes it, and is constantly getting new movies, so that is much better for us. Plus we get three at a time... two for Ben and I and one for the kiddos! works great! I am really excited, because all the people I know that have it really like it!
Well that is all for today, I should go get my darling son from the neighbors house... and then we are going to visit Kir! Yay!
Tomorrow is nothing... so I am stoked about that too. I need a rest!
