"Geddeburger" aka Gettysburg

We had a wonderful day yesterday. Ben came home from his interview (we are waiting to hear back from them) and we were both kind of frustrated. Have I mentioned that we are smack dab in the middle of the terrible twos with our daughter? Ha. Yeah. So, we decided to pack up the Jeep and head to Gettysburg.
Wyatt: "Daddy, where are we going?"
Ben: "To Gettysburg"
Wyatt:"Gedde(hehe get it?) burger?"
Ben: Hee heee whooo ha ha ha snicker snicker
Me: Wyatt James Geddeburger. Hee hee ha whoooo hahaha
It was so funny, and then as we stopped at the visitor center in Gettysburg, we had to walk this path, and the workers there are all dressed in the hats and the button down jackets and Wy said to Ben "cowboys". Well I didn't hear Wyatt say that and all of a sudden Adi pipes up, "Look Mama, Cowboys!" Everytime one of these workers left and passed us on their way to the car to leave for the day, Adi would yell "Hi Cowboy!" Oh my gosh it was so hilarious. Then this one man dressed in civilian clothes (not cowboys ;)) she said, "Hi" and she looked at me and said "Seatbelt" ... Yep she thinks that a belt around the waist is a seatbelt. These kids keep us going all day with the giggles. It was hilarious. (pics to come soon)

We walked and had malts in what was the oldest malt shop in Gettysburg. Had a nice ride home.

Today we shopped a bit and hung out and then I finished my book. Jodi Piccoult "The Pact" pretty darn stinkin' good. And pretty much the first time I have read a book that was almost 400 pages in like 4 days or something like that. Wow.

Tonight we have small group with James, Leigh, and Adam and Kelly. I am going to sleep over at The Stoaks so I can volunteer at Paxton again tomorrow. Wooohooo. Then, next week... We are going to Canada! Well, me and Adi and Kel are. The boys have yet to get their passports. Anyhow, we are going to Ontario to visit Kels family. Can't wait!

Wednesday

Nothing much up with us for Wednesday. Ben has his interview right now. He might actually be done with it. I am sitting on the couch with the kids getting motivated to go start the coffee pot. Today seems like a two cup of coffee type day. I am really tired! I have a headache too and the weather doesn't help. I decended the trecherous driveway and made my way to the mailbox today. Yike.

We cancelled Ben's phone yesterday to save some money which is kind of a relif because since he stopped working at Sullivan the phone barely gets used.

I am really jazzed because Mom Stoak is planning on making some delicious soup for supper. I am really excited because first of all it is soup and it is on their diet, so that means it is diet food for me, which is a plus, and also means that I only have to help with clean up, and I don't really have to cook. Since we have gotten here, I am in charge of cooking for everyone. I don't mind it, but since I am feeling a bit down today it will be really nice to just have it done for me. Yay.

I have been drinking a smoothie each day too, helps me to stay full and it is delish. I bought some organic yogurt and I have fresh fruit that I blend all up. It is so yummy and hopfully helping me to lose a couple.

Things are good nevertheless. Working on flash cards with the kids and going to do some art projects this afternoon. Hopefully learn a bit today! :)

We are having fun in PA. It is an absolute blast, however I am getting a bit homesick. We have fun on a daily basis. The place we live is wonderful and the people we live with even more so. I am still homesick.

The kids love to play with Abbey and Sophie. I love my time with Kelly, and I am getting to know Nichole and really appreicate the new relationships I am getting during this time.

I would have really liked to have gone to the movies with Grams, Kir, and Mom yesterday. Miss them.

Anyhow. I am pressing on with my MDP papers and reading. I am thankful to say that I finished "Scaling the Wall" last night and submitted my paper already. So, that is good. I am also half way through a devotional that has been assigned to me, and I am really liking the progress I am making.

I am reading a book called "The Pact". Both my sisters like Jodi Piccoult. Em got Kir to read "My sisters keeper" and now she just finished the book I am reading last weekend. I have been wanting to read a book along with someone just to enjoy reading it and discuss, so since Kir really liked it, I picked it up. I am actually about 150 pages into it already. I am happy that I am able to delegate my responsibility with the MDP reading and fun reading. I am pretty much allowing myself only to do my "for fun" reading during the night and my "serious" reading all through the morning and day.

We are going to have a good day. I am sure of that, but I am allowing myself to be mildly sad because I would love to see my friends and family.

Harrisburg, Olive Garden and fun!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 6 year anniversary. We went to the Olive Garden and it was delish!

Adam and Kelly watched the kids which was SO nice. We went to Harrisburg and visited the area around the Susquehannah.

It has been pretty hot here, but today we are planning on going to the Marysville Lions club park to play and then to fish the pond. It was a lovely weekend spend celebrating our anniversary and spending time with our friends!
