The weekend....

We had a pretty fun weekend. On Saturday I went to Mayfair to try and get our ipod fixed because it has been broken for quite awhile... They ended up giving me a brand new one! It was so nice... Then we went and hung out with some friends for awhile. Ben found out that the Sportsmens Warehouse in West Bend was going out of business, so we of course had to check that out (thanks Michelle for the directions!). Sunday we went to church and then had Bible study which was really fun! Matt and Julie brought Papa Murphy's which was soooo yummy! Now it is Monday morning and a busy week is ahead, as usual. Today we are going to see my sister for awhile and then home for the evening. Tomorrow I have a dentist appt, Oh dear... so the schedule goes on and on. I am working with Wy to learn colors and shapes. Adalai is doing Ok, getting her first tooth (it popped through yesterday afternoon!) but she still has quite a cough. She is on her last day of antibiotics from her ear ache, but she is still tugging on it and itching it... So we may end up at the doc for her sometime this week again! I wish that it was time for spring already. I am sick of the freezing cold. It is always good for us to get outside to play and that hasn't happened for quite a long time. Anyhow, it is just supposed to get colder through the week... boooooo I am bummed about that!
Well off to play and do the dishes... peace

Nothing too much I guess...

I haven't blogged in a few days because there is nothing too much going on. It has been a busy week so far. Little Gram and I went to mayfair on Monday which was a total bust, but oh well it was nice to get there and eat lunch together and stuff. We stayed in and played yesterday. Kira and Mer came over and played in the morning too which was really nice. Today we are at Grams doing laundry and chores. Ben actually came with today to Grandma's house which was really nice. He doesn't like to chill at home all day while his family is away I guess! I just took him to work and then finishing up here with laundry. I love days at Grams though it is so nice to have the company and Wyatt LOVES being here.
Yeah so nothing too much I guess!
Peace

My Love

I am amazed at Ben. He is so gracious. I have been feeling a bit blue lately, so my amazing sister asked me to come out to pizza with her and a friend, and he so graciously offered to keep the kids home while I went for a sort of girls night. And then today I had planned to take the kids, and my Grandma to Mayfair because we have needed to get the ipod fixed for like three months and I need to return some stuff to Macy's and whatnot, so kind of planning a fun mall morning trip, he again, graciously offered to keep the kids home while I run the errands. I am appreciative in times like this of his offer because it isn't a big deal to take the kids with, but it makes for a quicker time around the mall to the places I need to go, and makes for less stress if needed to wait in line (have you ever even been in the Apple store? It is usually really busy and after the holidays....). So I am really appreciative of my husband. He is teaching me so much lately, making me look at different perspectives on what I am reading in the Bible. It is a requirement of our class that we read the Bible, so I have read through Genesis, Matthew, and now I am half way through Exodus. He always reminds me of small things while reading like since I am in Exodus, I am reading about Moses and what God spoke to him, and he reminded me that with all that Moses has to portray (from God) to Pharoah, that it was actually spoken through Aaron, that Moses didn't actually say it (which is wierd just because the Bible kind of puts it like "Moses said to Pharoah" but he didnt!) Ben actually said that he heard at one point that Moses actually had a studder...
Anyhow, I am just appreciative of his patience!
The weekend was good, but short. This week will be busy, today is mall/grocery shopping and then home in the evening, tomorrow is home with the kids, and then Wednesday is to Grams... and then babysitting for the rest of the weekend. Wowza. Needless to say, I went back to caffienated coffee! The decaf was killin me!
Sometimes I blog about silly things, I know, but this is how I journal, I don't really write a journal anymore (I used to spend a considerable amount at the end of each day journaling but I type much faster :)) so it is cool to keep track if for nothing else but to look back later and remember what was going on at this point of my life.
Oh yeah big boy bed update ;) Ben moved the kids room around a bit while I was out on my girls night, and moved Wyatts bed right next to Adalai. It is helpful for bedtimes, truely! But they wake up at the same time always, I am just thankful that she has been sleeping through the night... So they wake up kind of early, but I would rather wake up at 6am, then numerous times through the night!!!
Peace to you this week....

Bummed I guess...

Well today is kind of a bummer of a Friday... sometimes with the new work schedule for Ben it is just another day that we are in the house. That will change once Spring comes! (or once we get the Camaro fixed :)) It isn't too bad though. Adalai has yet another ear infection and I just don't know how she even gets them! I thought the first one was just kind of a fluke since she had that croup, but nope I guess she will just be one of those types of babies! She has had two already! She doesn't seem sick or in pain, so we just picked up the antibiotic, and she will be all better soon I hope!
I am kind of sad that the holidays are over actually. I got really used to having my husband around during the day and stuff, it was SOOOO Nice!
The big boy bed thing isn't working too well yet, but I guess I will have to give it some time. He went to bed wonderfully last night, but woke up at about 4am, and then woke Adalai up, next thing I knew, I was laying her down to go back to sleep at 6:15am, the EXACT time I needed to get ready for Sophie... Oh well, it is naptime now, so I am going to rest!
Have a great day!

Yeah 2008!

The beginning of the year is always kind of cool for me... not that you get to start fresh or anything, but making some new goals, I feel is healthy. I know that most resolutions always only last a couple weeks, but I think being able to get a goal in mind is good. I have a friend who told me about the Sonoma diet to kind of kick the last few pounds that are hanging on from when I had the baby. It is pretty strict, but I think that I may do a type of variation on that diet. I am working also on not drinking so much sugary stuff, and not eating so much sugar. I have made little steps to kind of rid myself of that such as not adding so much sugar to coffee in the morning, and I switched to Coke Zero. I have always HATED the thought of diet soda because I have always heard horrible things about aspartame (fake sugar). So I don't know if I am so keen on drinking that a lot. I have a goal in mind to be more active in the time that I have at home w/ working out in the evening after the kids bedtime, so that is another thing. Nothing too huge and nothing too uncommon for a new years resolution.
We had a great day at Grams house. She had yummmmy food as always, ribs and chicken, and cole slaw, and non sonoma diet related stuff ;) We played games as a family and Kir and I played a round of Yatzee too which I love. So tpmogjt we are going to chill out at home and watch Pirates and play Guitar Hero...

Wyatt's Big Boy Bed!

So heres the story. Wyatt used to have a double bed in his room and he used to sleep in it, until he discovered the Pack N Play, and decided he would rather sleep in there. I felt a little guilty after a few months of him sleeping in a playpen, so I was stressin over I should buy a crib or a toddler bed. My sister and sister in law both said toddler bed. I was under the impression that kids were in cribs until like at least age 3 1/2, but I guess not so... Anyhow, I dropped off my donation at Lake Country Caring yesterday, (they are actually closed for the whole month of January, but I have special priveleges because Grams is a volunteer there) and took a look around and found this toddler bed! (Grams had actually showed it to me like a month ago, but... well nevertheless we got it this time!) Anyhow, Ben was so helpful yesterday in this whole situation and took the big bed downstairs, and set up Wyatt's new big boy bed! I ran to Walmart and picked up a new mattress for him, and got it all ready for bedtime last night (oh yeah I hit the pack n play too so he wouldn't ask for that instead ;)) and he did wonderful! I prayed all night for a peaceful bedtime. I had to lay in there for awhile, but it seriously only took 15 mins or so for him to go to sleep. He woke up around 2am and we had to deal with that a bit, but he did great nevertheless. I am sooooo thankful for this little transition, because it made SO much more playspace in the room for us (we are trying to keep the toys in their room instead of all over our small apartment) so it was really great!
So we'll see how bedtimes and naptime goes now that he can actually get out of his bed, it created a lot of frustration before when he was in his big bed because he could climb out all the time! So anyhow, Kira told me this little tip that she learned on Super Nanny, which is to sit by the bed, and then every night inch your way outside the door, which is an easier transition then to just make them stay alone. Maybe this time it will be easier because he is older now, and he has his little sis in there to keep him company!
Anyhow, gotta go make Ben's lunch for work
Happy snow day!

Christmas FuN!

Well this was our first stop on Christmas Eve. We had so much fun at my Mom's! There was yummy food as always and a loving family! We exchanged gifts which was really fun for me this year because we were able to give to our family... We got Guitar Hero III from Grams, so we got some great photos of that fun! I will try and post those later... It was a great holiday. We went to my family celebration, then we went to our service at church, and then headed out to my father-in-laws.. I got to see Em and Chris which was really nice and spend time with my family there... and then on Christmas morning, we did gifts with the kids, which was precious. And then went to my mother-in-laws. We played games there, and Papa taught Kir, Ben, and I how to play Texas Hold 'em... So much fun! It was a wonderful weekend and holiday! We are going to my Grams house for New Years. I always love that celebration too because we just spend time playing cards and games, and eating! (Gotta love it!) But, I have gone onto a kind of more healthy diet, so I am going to pray that I can have willpower to make good choices because she always has the goodies! (I am back down to one coke a day, more water, and healthy food choices---reduced sugar!)... Anyhow, so that is the jist of the holiday. Now we are working on finding places in our apartment for the toys and whatnot...
I am going to post more photos in a bit!
Peace
